Our Commitment to Student Privacy

Take3.live is fully committed to complying with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We treat the privacy of student athletes with the highest level of care and respect.

1. Who We Are

Take3.live ("we," "us," or "our") is a wrestling program management platform designed for middle school and high school athletic programs. We provide tools for roster management, meet scheduling, and live scorekeeping.

2. FERPA Compliance

We comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232g. As a service provider to educational institutions:

  • We act as a "school official" with a legitimate educational interest, as permitted under FERPA.
  • Student education records are used solely to provide the services requested by the school or program.
  • We do not disclose student education records to third parties without school authorization, except as required by law.
  • Schools and authorized coaches retain control over student data stored on our platform.
  • We support schools' obligations to provide parents and eligible students with access to and control over education records.

3. COPPA Compliance

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506:

  • Take3.live is not directed at children under 13 for account creation. Only school staff and coaches create accounts.
  • Student athlete information entered by coaches (name, grade, weight class) is entered by authorized school personnel, not by the students themselves.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
  • If a school or parent believes a child's data has been collected without proper authorization, please contact us immediately at privacy@take3.live and we will delete it promptly.
  • Student data is used exclusively for athletic program management and is never used for advertising or marketing purposes.

4. Information We Collect

From Coaches and School Staff (Account Holders):

  • Name and email address
  • School affiliation and role
  • Authentication credentials

From Coaches on Behalf of Student Athletes:

  • First and last name
  • Grade level
  • Weight class
  • Athletic record (wins, losses, pins)
  • Optional: profile photo

5. How We Use Information

  • To provide roster management and meet scheduling services
  • To display live match scores and results
  • To generate meet programs and reports for school use
  • To improve our platform and services
  • We never sell student data to third parties
  • We never use student data for targeted advertising

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information except:

  • With other participating schools: Meet participants' names and weight classes are visible to other authorized schools participating in the same meet.
  • Public scoreboards: Live match scores may be viewable by the public via shareable meet links. Schools control whether to share these links.
  • Service providers: We use limited third-party services (e.g., database hosting) strictly to operate our platform, all bound by confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal compliance: If required by applicable law, court order, or governmental authority.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure authentication. Access to student data is restricted to authorized school staff and coaches associated with that program.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Schools and authorized coaches may delete student records at any time from within the platform. Upon written request, we will delete all data associated with a school's account within 30 days. Contact us at privacy@take3.live to request deletion.

9. Parental Rights

Parents and guardians who wish to review, correct, or delete their child's information stored on our platform should contact their school's athletic department or coach directly. Schools are responsible for managing student records in compliance with FERPA. You may also contact us directly at privacy@take3.live.
